Golfriend runs online booking for indoor golf venues. This page explains what we collect when you book or run a venue with us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Golfriend is operated by Webonology in Ontario, Canada, and follows Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Your name, email and phone number when you book, join a waitlist or make an account.
- Your bookings, hour packages, gift cards and what you paid, so the venue can run your visit.
- Whether you agreed to texts and to promotional emails, and when.
- Basic technical records (which page, when, errors) to keep the service working and secure.
We do not see or keep your card number. Card payments go straight to Stripe.
Why
- To make and manage your bookings, take payment and send confirmations, reminders and door links.
- So the venue you booked with can see your bookings and contact you about them.
- To send promotions only if you said yes. Every promotional email has an unsubscribe link.
Who else handles it
We use these services to run Golfriend; each only gets what it needs:
- Stripe (card payments), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting)
- Resend (email) and Twilio (text messages)
- Google, only to show a venue's public reviews
Some of these store data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Each venue is responsible for how it uses its own customer list. We never sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept as long as the venue needs them for its records and tax, usually seven years. You can ask us to delete your contact details sooner where the law allows.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
- Use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at info@webonology.ca.
